IHC directs to submit Nawaz's medical reports in plea seeking sentence suspension

The former PM was shifted to the hospital from the Kot Lakhpat Jail due to cardiac problem.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A petition was submitted on Monday in Islamabad High Court (LHC) seeking suspension of sentence of incarcerated prime minister Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds.

The court has directed Superintendent Kot Lakhpat jail to submit Sharif’s medical reports. It has also ordered to submit reports complied by new medical board on January 28.

The former prime minister was shifted to the hospital from the Kot Lakhpat Jail on Saturday due to cardiac problem. A six-member board of doctors from the Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) has been conducting his medical procedures.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif s troponin test determines that he did not suffer heart attack, according to reports.

Yesterday, blood tests were conducted to determine his heart issues. Sharif has been undergoing various medical tests at the Services Hospital in Lahore to ascertain severity of different diseases he has been suffering from.

Besides, he also underwent CT scan and ultrasound to examine the level of his kidney problem. The tests found stones in his left kidney.

A re-examination of his blood samples in the Jinnah Hospital determined that he has been facing earlier heart issues and not symptoms related to heart attack.

The former premier has been given a VVIP room in the hospital.

SP Model Town Ali Waseem is in-charge of the overall security of the hospital. A deputy superintendent of police (DSP), two inspectors and 80 officers are performing duties at the hospital.
