Pakistan has improved its position in the Corruption Perception Index

LAHORE (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal on Friday said that a comprehensive policy has been devised for corruption-free Pakistan.

The NAB chairman continued his visit of the anti-graft watchdog Lahore chapter’s office on the second day where he was given a detailed briefing on various cases.

Addressing the meeting, Justice (r) Javed Iqbal said that a comprehensive policy has been devised for corruption-free Pakistan, adding that the operational policy is comprised of three levels including complaint verification, inquiry and investigation.

He said that the anti-graft agency has received more complaints than it had received in year 2017, adding that the masses concentration on NAB is an evidence of trust on the national institution.

The anti-graft watchdog chairman went on to say that Bureau’s officials were working hard to take the investigations to logical end.

“Pakistan has improved its position in the Corruption Perception Index from 126 to 116 and has become a role model for the SAARC countries,” he said.

Pakistan has also improved its ranking in Mishaal Pakistan and World Economic Forum index from 102 to 99, he added.

“Professional negligencies have been contained,” the Justice Javed Iqbal said and added NAB s operational, prosecution and awareness wings have significantly improved.
