Interior Ministry warns Punjab of terror attacks

The ministry informs the provincial authorities that key police officers can be targeted.

The Interior Ministry dispatched a report to the Punjab government in which the authorities were informed about the possible terrorists’ attacks in the province.The ministry shared its intelligence report with provincial government and warn that the militants could target the residences of police officers and the Jhelum Police Line. The report referred to a meeting of a ban militant organisation in which the terrorists set new targets for them. Anticipating the threats of terrorism in Lahore, police conducted search operations in various areas of the city and arrested many suspected people. According to the police, search operations were conducted in Afghan settlements in the city and people with no identification documents were arrested.
