SC accepts petition against ECP formation

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) formation is not according to law, says writ petitioner.

Dunya News anchor Mubashir Luqman has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan challenging the formation of the ECP. The counsel for the petitioner told the court that ECP was not formed according to 18th amendment. He said that a proper representation should be given to all the provinces in the ECP. The court accepted the appeal for hearing.Earlier, Luqman had challenged the voter lists. The court said that the preparation of transparent voter lists was the responsibility of the ECP, therefore, the commission would prepare transparent voter lists within a month.
