ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda Monday vowed to take strict action against people involved in water theft, saying his government was committed to address water-related issues.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Vawda said the World Bank had reservations over non-completion of Dasu dam. It will be utmost effort of the government to complete Dasu dam by 2022, he added.

The minister said he had directed the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) to take steps on war footing to address water-related issues.

He added that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was committed to address the water woes of Sindh and Karachi. “Constitutional amendments won’t stop me from apprehending water thieves,” he said.
