69 parks await government attention in Multan
Who cares to renovate parks in Multan; people already have no recreational activities.
(Web Desk) – Multan is referred to as the city of saints. As one imagines of its being a city of saints, one perceives the spiritual peace, cleanliness, and everything that makes an environment worth spending time in. There are around 69 parks, including Benazir Bhutto and Ch. Pervaz Ellahi parks, that are in a miserable condition and are portraying the recklessness of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA).

The renovation of these parks has not been realized till this time. Around Rs25 million are required, but till this time no such fund has been supposed to be issued. According to one of the officials of PHA, previous government, though, issued funds but it was cold comfort, enough for only three parks. We renovate the parks keeping in view the limit of budget we have.
One of the residents said there is dirt everywhere; these parks are not worth walking. Swings are out of order. He further went on to say that the administration charge money for parking regularly. We do not know where the money goes.
Multan is a metropolitan city consisting of around two million people. For this population, the recreational activities are already very few and with the worsening of parks, in the shape of destruction of these parks, the matter is getting worse day by day. PTI needs to focus on sports and recreational activities so that the untapped potential of youth could be utilized.
