Defence Day observed with enthusiasm
The Defence Day of Pakistan was observed on Thursday with great zeal and fervor.
RAWALPINDI (APP) - The Defence Day of Pakistan was observed on Thursday with great zeal and fervor to pay homage to the martyrs, who laid down their lives for the defence of motherland.
The day dawned with special prayers, at Fajr in the mosques across the city for the stability, defense, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
Various schools and colleges also arranged different programs to pay tribute to the martyrs including the heroes of September 1965 war in acknowledgment of laying down their precious lives for the defense of the motherland.
Army Heritage Foundation also arranged a function at Ayub Park where students of Cadets Foundation School and Springfield schools paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Pakistan Army by singing national songs, presenting tableau’s and speeches.
On the occasion, documentaries portraying sacrifices of the stalwarts of Pakistan Army who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the country were also screened.
Newspapers printed special supplements and radio and TV channels aired program to highlight the importance of the day and courage of armed forces.
