Elections 2018: Over 20000 polling stations declared sensitive

(Dunya News) – Law enforcement agencies (LEAs)—in a report compiled after extensive field work—has termed 20789 polling stations sensitive ahead of General Elections 2018.

As per details garnered, the report was submitted with Election Commission of Pakistan and interior ministry.

LEAs also proposed to deploy over 4.5 lakh security personnel at sensitive polling station across country.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tops the list with as many as 7356 sensitive polling stations. Sindh achieved second spot on the list with 5776 sensitive polling stations, Punjab is on third with 5686 while Balochistan came on fourth with 1768.

The report urges electoral body and interim set-up to deploy over 2 lakh security personnel in Punjab and Islamabad, 100599 in Sindh, 87269 in K-P and 59497 in Balochistan.

General Elections 2018 will be held on July 25.
