ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Mian Raza Rabbani on Saturday has asked Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) why it didn’t take any action when the convoy of his party chairman Bilawal Bhutto was stopped in Uch Sharif.

Speaking during a Senate session, Rabbani said that two big parties (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and PPP) are being targeted ahead of general elections but the commission is doing nothing in this regard.

He also regretted that candidates of proscribed outfits are also participating in the polls.

Former Senate speaker said the election commission should answer as to how the nomination papers of such candidates were accepted.

He also termed elections as important for democratic future of the country.
