ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In a major blow to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) election campaign, the appellate tribunal constituted by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday has barred Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind and Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak from contesting elections.

As per details acquired, the appellate tribunal upheld decision of the returning officer (RO). On the other hand, Imran Khan-led PTI has announced to move Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the decision.

Rind has filed nominations papers for NA-260 for seat in lower house of the parliament whereas for PB-17 for Balochistan Assembly.

Adding insult to the injuries, the appellate tribunal has also declared PTI’s Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak—who had contested 2013 general elections under independent capacity—ineligible from contesting elections. He has submitted nomination papers from NA-194 Multan.
