Suicide bomber blows himself up near Rangers checkpost in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – A suspected suicide bomber, who was targeting Sindh Rangers checkpost in Karachi’s Northern Bypass area, blew himself up after he was stopped by officers during snap checking.

According to Sindh Ranger spokesman, the attacker, who has yet to be identified, targeted Hub checkpost of the paramilitary force when members of the security personnel tried to stop the attacker but he blew himself up after a brief exchange of fire between the attackers and paramilitary force.

Two Rangers personnel also sustained wounds in the explosion.

Soon after the incident, security forces reached the spot and cordoned off the area. The wounded men were rushed to local hospital for medical assistance.

The investigation in to the incident is underway.
