394 km long Multan-Sukkur motorway is completed at cost of Rs 294 billion.

SHUJABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday has inaugurated the Multan-Shujabad section of Sukkur-Multan motorway (M-5).

Addressing the ceremony, PM said that efforts were carried out to topple Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government by holding sit-ins and lodging cases.

He said that PML-N has fulfilled its promised as it initiated new development projects and completed the pending ones despite facing tough times.

Nothing has been done for Shujabad during 10 years of former president Pervez Musharraf‘s tenure, he added.

The premier also lashed out at Pakistan Peoples party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and said that he was failed to complete the projects.

Every city of Punjab has been changed now, he continued.

394 km long Multan-Sukkur motorway is completed at cost of Rs 294 billion under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and is part of 1156 km long mega project of Karachi-Lahore motorway.

It is a six-lane access controlled facility and will provide fast and easy communication between the cities of Multan and Shujabad.

Later, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will also inaugurate Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Bridge over River Indus in Kot Mithan near Rajan Pur this afternoon.

The bridge is one point two kilometers long and over twelve feet wide and will connect historic cities of Kot Mithan and Zahir Pir over River Indus. It will also help ensure a smooth traffic flow between Karachi, Kashmoor and Lahore.
