Counsel for Maryam and Safdar completes cross-examination of last prosecution witness

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An accountability court hearing corruption proceedings against the Sharif family resumed the hearing of the Avenfield reference case on Monday.

As the hearing went underway, Amjad Pervaiz, counsel for Maryam Nawaz and her husband Captain (r) Safdar, completed the cross-examination of Imran Dogar, who is the last prosecution witness.

Now a NAB prosecutor will record his statement in the Avenfield reference tomorrow (Tuesday).

During the hearing, it was revealed that additional pages were attached in Volume IV.

Dogar said that total pages of Volume were 240 according to the index, while the numbering from page 241 to page 299 had been done manually. He added that the index did not include page from 241 to onwards. He said the investigation did not reveal how and when the pages were attached to Volume IV.

Dogar said that according to Robert Raidley he had forwarded the first and second report to the JIT on July 9, 2017. At this, Amjad Pervaiz asked Dogar: “Do you know that it was Sunday on July 9?” Dogar replied that he could not remember the day.

The court then adjourned the hearing of the case until tomorrow at 11am.
