Police remove barriers outside Nawaz, Shehbaz residences

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Inspector General (IG) submitted reply in Lahore High Court (LHC) after removing barriers from at least 16 places including the residences of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.

Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh conducted hearing over the petition of a local Muhammad Hameed. His lawyer told court the Supreme Court had directed the removal of all such barriers on February 11, however; the order has till not been implemented completely.

He requested the judge to summon the details of all no-go areas.

Additional advocate general Punjab submitted a report in the court on the behalf of Punjab IG. It says that roads have been opened for the public while removing barriers from 16 places which include the residences of Sharif brothers, Tahirul Qadri, Jamia Qudsia and Minhajul Quran.

The report went on to say that Supreme Court’s directives have been fully implemented.

The court directed the lawyers of both the parties to present arguments in the case on June 5.
