(Dunya News) – In a bid to beautify the city of Multan, and to curb the pollution inside the city, millions of rupees were invested on green belts and water fountains. However, all that money has gone to waste due to the negligence of the Parks & Horticulture Authority.

Plants and trees in the surrounding areas of Metro Bus route are withering away due to the neglect by the concerned department.

Almost Rs. 14 million was invested on the 21-kilometre route where expensive trees and flowers were planted on the green belt.

However, this lane now looks barren due to the mismanagement of Parks & Horticulture Authority.

Speaking to Dunya News, Muhammad Jalal, member of PHA, said that there were various types of responsibilities relating to the plantation on green belts and other small projects which the PHA has executed successfully. “However, we are facing some technical difficulties due to which we cannot work on the maintenance.”

Commuters complained that while so much money had been spent on the project, there was no one to look after the plants.

The project was set to beautify various parts of Multan, but due to the negligence of the concerned department, the surroundings of the Metro route looks barren and dull.
