Commission expresses resentment over continuous water crisis in Karachi

Water commission officer said that the issue cannot be solved until 15 to 20 wall men get punished.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh water commission on Monday expressed resentment over continuous water crisis in Karachi and ordered Managing Director of the board Khalid Mahmood Sheikh to resolve the matter in one hour.

During the hearing of water issue in Sindh High Court (SHC), Justice Amir Hani Muslim reprimanded MD water board over his absence, saying that he should have sent someone else in his place.

He also asked from the lawyer that where has all water gone in Karachi, adding that the locals are facing difficulties due this crisis. People are abusing the district government for not fulfilling their promises, he added.

Meanwhile, water board MD arrived at the court and said that the people who are getting water should be thankful over which, the judge said, “It’s your responsibility to provide water to everyone.”

Representative of water commission said that the issue cannot be solved until 15 to 20 wall men get punished. Powerful people are getting water while poverty-stricken community is being ignored, he said.

Commission head further assured to monitor the matter by himself.
