Demanding their right to live, Hazara community continues protest

(Dunya News) – Chanting ‘haq do haq do jeenay ka haq do’ [give us the right to live] the Hazara community’s protest against targeted killing in Quetta entered the ninth day on Sunday as protesters expressed dissatisfaction over assurances given by the government.
The protest against targeted killing called for peace. Attended by men, women and children, the sit-in protest is being staged at the Alamdar Road.
The recent wave of terrorism in Balochistan claimed lives of civilians, including minorities, and security forces.
The protesters also expressed their concern over the failure of Chief Minister Balochistan to take notice of the plight of the Hazara community. During the sit-in, protesters claimed that hundreds of lives had been lost over the past two decades yet the government failed to provide them security.

Speaking to Dunya News, one of the protesters said that their community was tired of fighting against the mentality that had been ruthlessly targeting them.
“If the government does not know, it means they are not capable to be in the position of power. If they know, they should take action,” said one of the protesters.
The protesters demanded that the government take immediate measures to ensure law and order and peace in Quetta and the rest of the province.
