(Dunya News) – In search of better employment opportunities, while there have been Pakistanis who have left their homes and loved ones behind to seek a better future elsewhere in the world, a recent survey has revealed that employment opportunities for Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf are on the decline.

In the past four years there has been a decrease of 400,000 in Pakistanis who have left for better job prospects in these countries.

Countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and U.A.E were considered the employment hub for Pakistanis. According to the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment, in the year 2015, 522,000 Pakistanis left for these countries in search for jobs. But these numbers have reduced since then. In 2017, the number of Pakistanis leaving for Saudi Arabia and U.A.E has come down to 100,000.

According to analysts, the decrease in the number of Pakistanis looking for work opportunities is due to increased taxation in these countries along with the introduction of strict laws.
