There won't be politics over Naqeebullah murder case: CJ Nisar
The top court has directed security agencies to file a report over Rao Anwar's arrest within a week.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) has remarked on Monday during hearing of Naqeebullah murder case that there would be no politics over the issue.
During a hearing today, the top court directed Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and Frontier Corps (FC) to file a report over proclaimed offender suspended Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Malir Rao Anwar.
Chief Justice (CJ) Mian Saqib Nisar asked Sindh Inspector General (IG) AD Khawaja to explain why Anwar was not arrested when the apex court had instructed security agencies to assist Sindh Police in the case.
The top judge remarked that there was no reliable content in the report filed today by Intelligence Bureau (IB) and asked why ISI was yet to file a report. Responding to CJ Nisar, joint secretary assured the court of filing of the required report by ISI and MI within a week.
Through the course of the hearing today, CJ Nisar said that Naqeeb’s death saddened him and warned that there is going to be no politics over the case. The court wants authorities to ensure Rao Anwar’s presence in hearings.
He further directed authorities to identify passengers using footages recorded at airports.
