Sources claimed Nisar wasn't invited at the PML-N Central Working Committee meeting

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was nowhere to be seen at the Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Tuesday where the ruling party elected Shehbaz Sharif as acting president.

Sources close to the party told Nisar was not invited at the session as several senior leaders objected to his statements that were against party policy.

No senior leader confirmed why Nisar didn’t attend the all-important meeting despite him being a member of the latest Central Executive Committee (CEC).

The spokesperson of Nisar told that he will issue a statement after one or two days.

This month, Addressing a press conference in Taxila, the ex-interior minister had clarified that he can only work with seniors, adding he is not ‘political orphan’ to call his juniors sir or madam. "I was comfortable in working with Nawaz Sharif and his brother Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif but refuse to continue under supervision of Maryam," he added.

Nawaz and Nisar had seemingly shared differences when spokesperson of ex-Interior Minister clarified that the suggestion given to Nawaz Sharif to take motorway in his bid to reach Lahore after the ouster was given by the majority party, not by Nisar alone.

CWC of the ruling party has decided to elect Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif as party s acting president.

The key meeting was attended by former party president Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz and other senior members of the party.

Nawaz Sharif picked Shehbaz Sharif as acting president of the party.

Meanwhile, a number of PML-N leaders cried at the occasion where Nawaz Sharif lost party’s presidency. They said to accept Nawaz’s decision, but were hurt. “Nobody can separate Nawaz Sharif from N-league,” said one member.
