Al Azizia, Flagship cases: NAB to file supplementary references against Nawaz Sharif

Chairman NAB Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has given green signal to the bureau to submit the references.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday will file supplementary references against ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif in accountability court over Al Azizia and Flagship cases.

Chairman NAB Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has also given green signal to the bureau to submit the references.

It is to be mentioned here that evidence against Nawaz Sharif, his sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz will be part of the references while new details regarding offshore companies of Hassan and Hussain will also be included.

Earlier, accountability court had adjourned the hearing of NAB references against Sharif family without any proceeding.

Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar had appeared in the court but Maryam Nawaz’s lawyer Amjad Pervez skipped the hearing due to the demise of noted lawyer and human rights actvitist Asma Jahangir.

An exemption plea for two weeks from February 19 was also submitted by the accused, seeking permission to fly London to meet Kulsoom Nawaz, who is undergoing medical treatment.

Summoning four witnesses, the court had adjourned the hearing till February 15.
