BZU student accuses lecturer among six of rape, blackmail

MULTAN (Dunya News) – A woman student enrolled with Bahauddin Zakariya University has accused a lecturer among six persons on Wednesday to have raped and blackmailed her claiming to have a footage of the crime.
According to the alleged victim, she was raped a year ago and approached police but no case was lodged. According to the student, she wrote to the vice chancellor of the varsity as well but no action was taken.
Today, appearing before Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Operations Wing, the girl claimed that the criminals blackmail her warning her of releasing the footage.
Accusation of the varsity student has come at a time when Punjab government is plagued by rape and murder case in Kasur.
Seven-year-old Zainab was rape before she was murdered in Punjab city earlier this month igniting a national level debate and forming a mainstream narrative against the issue.
