District govt to hold APC over Mardan girl's murder case today

MARDAN (Dunya News) – The district government is set to hold All Parties Conference (APC) today (Friday) over the brutal murder of a four-year-old girl after rape in Mardan.

The provincial security forces have failed to arrest the real culprits despite passage of several days while the investigation from as many as 116 suspicious people is still underway.

Meanwhile, the authorities have also decided to carry out polygraphic test of the detainees.

Earlier, the jirga of elder people in the area had also given ultimatum of 72 hours to the government to arrest the culprits and launch investigation against them.

It is to be mentioned here that girl’s body was found few days ago after which her medical test was conducted that confirmed rape. However, her blood sample was also sent to forensic laboratory in Lahore for further verification.

Mardan DPO said that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT), under his supervision, has been formed to probe the case. He said few people have been taken into custody while geo-fencing of the area is also underway.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned the mishap and declared it as horrible crime. He demanded the authorities to provide justice to the bereaved family.
