PP-20 by-poll: Vote count underway
Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Jamat-e-Islami were also supporting PTIs candidate.
CHAKWAL (Dunya News)- Vote count is under way after a daylong polling in the by-election of PP-20 Chakwal-I, reported Dunya News.
As per preliminary and unofficial results obtained from 92 polling stations, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PMLN) candidate Sultan Haider has secured strong lead with 28680 votes whereas Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Tariq Afzal candidate is on second spot with 17490 votes.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Jamat-e-Islami were also supporting PTI’s candidate.
Earlier, the voting continued uninterrupted throughout the day whereas five candidates were contesting the election.
According to a notification of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), at least 227 polling stations were set up for the 279,530 registered voters.
