Sindh: Transporters observes strike against hike in POL prices

On the call of the Sindh Transporters Association, a wheel jam strike was observed across the province against recent increase in POL prices.

In Badin, transporters also staged a protest against hike in the POL prices. They burnt tyres and blocked roads. The protestors demanded the governmment to review the decision regarding the surge in POL prices. “If the government does not withdraw the decision, they will go on strike for an undefined period,” they said.Addressing protesters, Sindh Bus Owners Association President Afzal Khan said that increase in fares was due to hike in the POL prices. He said that increase in fares caused row among passengers and transporters. He urged the government to withdraw the decision immediately.
