Passage of delimitation bill ends possibility of early elections
Election Commission sources said next general elections are likely to be held next year after July.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – All possibilities of early elections in the country were ended with the passage of delimitation bill by the Senate on Tuesday, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, Election Commission will need at least five months for the delimitation of the constituencies after the approval of the bill by the President of Pakistan.
Sources further informed that the Election Commission will complete its work on delimitation of the constituencies in May 2018 after the notification of the bill.
Election Commission will need at least two months for the preparations of next general elections in the country. Election Commission sources said next general elections are likely to be held next year after July.
