PM Abbasi addresses reservations of opposition on delimitations bill

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbassi on Friday chaired meeting of parliamentary leaders of Senate at the Parliament House in Islamabad.

According to details, agreement has been reached between the government and the opposition parties on the delimitation and census issues during the meeting.

The delimitations bill will be presented on December 19.

Talking to media along with parliamentary leaders of the opposition parties and Leader of the House Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, Leader of the Opposition in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan said that the PM has assured to address the reservations of the opposition parties regarding the new delimitations and the census issues.

He said five percent blocks will be re-audited based on random sampling according to the procedure proposed by the opposition.

Aitzaz Ahsan said that the voting on the constitutional amendment bill will be held on Tuesday and all the parties who had objections on the delimitations will take part in the voting process in the Senate.

Speaking on the occasion, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said that a similar meeting will also be held on the issue of FATA reforms.
