ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate chairman Raza Rabbani has said on Sunday that all the isntitutions of the state should function within their jurisdiction.
He said that clashes among institutions damage the federation.
The chairman addressed a ceremony organised in the federal capital during which he said that restriction imposed on student bodies should imediately be reversed and that extremist organisations were operating freely in colleges and schools during Ziaul Haq’s tenure.
Rabbani said that religion of the state is Islam and how could it pose any threat to a country that was founded in its name.
The Senate chairman said that it is unfortunate that religion is being used once again to push for political agendas. While talking about Faizabad sit-in, Rabbani said that Article 256 of the Constitution of Pakistan was violated with impunity.
