PSO stops oil supply to PIA over non-payment of dues

PIA flights from Karachi to Lahore and Islamabad were delayed due to suspension of oil supply.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has stopped the fuel supply of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) due to non-payment of dues, which resulted in disruption in airlines flight operation.

PIA owes Rs 16 billion dues against fuel purchase to PSO but since the national carrier is facing financial constraint which is why it is unable to clear the dues of PSO.

Sources said that PIA agreed to receive monthly installments from PIA on mediation of government officials, however, the PIA was unable to pay monthly installments.

Sources further said that PIA flights from Karachi to Lahore and Islamabad were delayed due to suspension of oil supply and more than 300 passengers were stranded at Karachi airport.
