Compliance report to declare Hassan, Hussain absconders submitted in NAB court

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigation officer on Tuesday submitted a compliance report in accountability court to declare ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz as absconders.

During the hearing headed by Justice Mohammad Bashir, the officer said that all the departments have been contacted to seek details of Hassan and Hussain Nawaz’s property while officer Mohammad Kamran’s statement has also been recorded in Flagship Investment reference.

He further told the court that details of Hussain Nawaz’s four bank accounts have also been received in which 4272 euros, 3992 dollars, 207 pounds and Rs 3.82 lac are present.

Summons of the accused were also pasted on the walls of their house and court, he added.

The officer further appealed the court to fulfill all legal requirements and declare former PM’s sons absconders. 

Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing, saying to announce the verdict on Wednesday.

Earlier, the court had issued perpetual warrants for Hussain and Hassan Nawaz’s arrest and separated their trial from other members of the family. Orders have also been given to confiscate their shares in six companies as per details provided by Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

The accountability court will also record statements of the witnesses in three NAB references against Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar from November 15.
