NAB references: Nawaz to appear in accountability court again today
Accountability court will re-hear Nawaz's plea today seeking to merge three references against him.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar will appear in Accountability Court agains today (Tuesday) in connection with three corruption references filed against them by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The accountability court will re-hear Nawaz Sharif s plea today seeking to merge three references against him in light of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) order.
On Thursday (November 2), a two-member IHC bench accepted Nawaz s plea challenging the accountability court s dismissal of his petition to merge the three references.
The IHC had ordered the accountability court to re-hear Nawaz Sharif’s plea again and then give an order on it in accordance with the relevant laws.
The accountability court will, thus, first decide Nawaz s plea to merge the three references and then the regular proceedings of the case will move forward.
