The four-day conference was held in Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News)- National exchequer has suffered a mammoth loss of Rs200 million due to alleged negligence and carelessness of different state departments, reported Roznama Dunya on Monday.
As per details, almost dozens companies including many from Saudi Arabia were not able to participate in four-day International Umra conference held in Karachi. Similarly, many officials of those companies who booked stalls were not granted visas. These steps inflicted an estimated loss of Rs200 million on national exchequer.
Sources privy to development told our correspondent that at least 45 companies had booked stalls for participation in Umra conference. Administration charged $4600 to $60000 per stall as efforts were initiated a year ago to organize the event. Due to administrational impediments, at least 16 companies including Saudi tech giant ‘Zain’ were deprived of participation.
Participants expressed sheer disappointment on administrational negligence and stated that such activities are encouraged across globe and all kind facilities are provided by local governments.
