LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah on Friday formulated a transfer policy for judges in Punjab, reported Dunya News.

For the first time in Punjab’s judicial history, transfer policy for judges has been formulated. This policy is tipped to curb nepotism and external pressure in judiciary.

According to the policy, district and sessions judges will not be transferred for 1 to 1.5 years. Additional district sessions judges, senior civil judges and jivil judges will not be transferred for 2 to 2.5 years. Transfer policy will be in place from September 1, and will be strictly implemented upon.

CJ said that there will be no compromise on merit and principles. “We will not accept nepotism or external influence to transfer judges in Punjab,” he said.
