As the verdict to Panamagate nears voices across the nation explode on social media.
(Web Desk)- As Pakistan waits eagerly for the Panama Papers verdict social media is bursting with news and comments from various political parties and famous personalities and analysts . The top trending topics on Twitter throughout the country remained #Panama Verdict, #ChNisar and for those who believe in the Prime Minister’s innocence #NationStandsWithNawaz.
For the past twelve hours hashtags relating to the Panama case have been trending nonstop as every Pakistani from the rich to the poor from the powerful to the weak waits anxiously for the Supreme Court decision.
As millions of Pakistanis are waiting for the landmark Supreme Court’s verdict on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that could force him to resign on the alleged corruption charges, the social media it seems has become a platform to vent political opinion in one of the most politically troubled eras in recent times.
The investigations followed right after the leak of Panama Papers in 2015 that linked Prime Minister and his children’s offshore companies.
