Defence counsel admits PM was chair of Dubai-based shell entity

“Hassan Nawaz [PM’s son] was the owner of Capital FZE and PM Nawaz was only designated as Chairman of the Board of this offshore company but he did not receive any salary,” Express Tribune quoted Khawaja Haris, counsel for the premier’s family.

He said that a residence permit known as Iqama was issued to PM Nawaz for being the chairperson of the offshore company.

‘Waiting for PM’s money trail since day one’

Dawn News reported that the bench passed remarks multiple times during Khawaja Harris’s monologue and one time said that. "Don t accept, don t reveal — that seems to be the thinking.”

Justice Ijazul Ahsan said that Sharif family adopted the approach to not tell anything to the JIT which was tasked to inspect every record available.

Probe not fair: defence

Khawaja Harris observed before the three-member bench today that neither the report was authentic nor the probe fair.

Earlier on Monday, PM Nawaz and finance minister Ishaq Dar had filed objections the two had over the probe team.

According to his counsel, the Prime Minister did not participate in family’s business distribution in 2007 to which Justice Ijazul Ahsan asked if he never knew the owner of the flats he stayed in whenever he wanted.

Apparently, no the premier did not know.

PML-N demands to public JIT proceedings

“On one side SC is saying that the JIT’s probe has ended and on the other hand they adopt stance that documents related to the matter are still being submitted,” Daniyal Aziz said while talking to the media.

He added that the footages recorded of JIT hearings should be made public.

He slammed Dr Farooq Sattar, chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for attending the hearings without being a party to the case.
