Fire engulfs plastic factory in Karachi
At least 12 fire tenders and two bowsers doused the factory inferno.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A plastic factory located in New Karachi industrial area caught fire early Friday morning.
Firefighters and rescue teams arrived at the scene after 20 minutes of the blaze. One part of the building and an electricity transformer collapsed as the fire got intense.
At least 12 fire tenders and two bowsers doused the factory inferno after hectic efforts of eight hours while the cooling process is underway. Presence of chemicals and construction material hampered the efforts to put out the fire. However; no life loss was reported as the workers were rescued safely from the factory.
The huge fire resulted in losses of millions of rupees. Police and Rangers personnel also arrived at the scene and barred the people from going near the factory.
