Naghma eloped with a boy only to be handed over back to the family by security forces

(Web Desk) – In another ‘honour killing’ case on Friday, a pre-teen girl was killed allegedly by the family after her unsuccessful attempt to elope with a boy in a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) district.

rferl.org quoted a local reporting that Naghma left her house on June 23 with a boy and was stopped by security troops who handed her over to the family.

According to the local, she was “probably” killed on June 27 allegedly by the family to reclaim ‘honour’.
Late Naghma was shot dead.

Pakistan passed a bill last year over women’s protection barring families of the murderers to pardon them which earlier used to set them free.

Hundreds of ‘honour killing’ cases are reported every year in Pakistan.
