High level meeting decides to rearrange national anthem's musical rendition

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb has directed Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) to rearrange the national anthem’s musical version, originally produced by Ahmed G. Chagla, for upcoming Independence Day.

During a meeting held to review preparations for Pakistan’s 70th independence, Marriyum Aurangzeb gave task to PNCA director-general Jamal Shah to submit comprehensive proposal regarding reorganizing the anthem’s musical rendition by using a world class orchestra. She said that the tune should truly reflect country’s diversified culture.

The minister also put stress on celebrating the independence with enthusiasm and patriotic zeal. She ordered the broadcasters to prepare creative content, mainly focusing on Pakistan’s triumph against India in Champions Trophy 2017.

She said that 14th of August not only signified the value of freedom, but also reminded us of unparalleled sacrifices of our forefathers that united the whole nation under one banner. The minister said that art, culture and heritage of every nook and cranny of the motherland should be duly highlighted during the course of celebrations.

The design of the official logo to be used for Independence Day was also approved in the session while the attendees also shared their ideas for different awareness and cultural programs.

The meeting was also attended by secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the principal information officer of PID, the directors general of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, the External Publicity Wing, the Internal Publicity Wing and the Cyber Wing, and the APP MD.
