Punjab Universitys students protest turned violent when the security guards tried to stop them to enter into the office of Vice Chancellor, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

Students of the Punjab University staged a protest demonstration in front of the Vice Chancellor office in favour of their demands, and tried to forcibly enter into the office, on the resistance of the security guards, students got angry and tried self-immolation.As per details, students of the Punjab University’s Institute of Plant Pathology (IPP) staged a protest against the administration for its failure to resolve the issue of their degrees and chanted slogans against the administration. The students also alleged that PU administration was cheating them in connection with issue of equivalence of their degrees.On the other hand, dialogues between students and administration could not succeed and the students alleged that the administration threatened them.
