Benazirs Murder: Musharraf named in charge sheet

Former President Pervaz Musharraf has been named in the charge sheet in the Benazirs murder case. During the hearing of the Benazirs murder case in the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi, the FIA officials presented the charge sheet naming the two police officials Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad. The court has rejected bail plea of the both officials.

Arguing on the bail applications of former CPO Saud Aziz and SP Khurram Shahzad, defence lawyer Malik Wahid Anjum said that there is no convicting evidence of the accused upon which they can be detained. He said that Saud Aziz and Khurram Shahzad were kept on a 24 day physical remained but the investigation team was not able to produce substantial evidence. Wahid Anjum said that Rehman Malik was Benazir’s Security adviser. SSP Yaseen Farook’s statement is an attempt to save the security adviser.On the other hand the FIA has acquired the mobile phone records of Benazir Bhutto’s mobile. The records show that Benzair did not receive any call till 2pm on 27th December 2007. During this time Asif Ali Zardari did not have any contact with Benazir Bhutto. Sources have said that the mobile records have been included in the case as evidence.
