Final phase of national housing and population census begins across country

As per Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the census will continue till 24th of next month.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – After the successful completion of first round of census, the second and final phase of sixth national housing and population census has begun in 87 districts across the country.



In this phase, census will be conducted in twenty one districts in Punjab and Sindh each, twelve in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, six Agencies of FATA, seventeen in Balochistan, five each in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan and 4509 blocks in Rawalpindi.

There will be housing census for the first three days after which population census will start that will continue till 24th of next month.



As many as 652 teams have been formed whereas police, Levies, Frontier Corps (FC) and Pakistan Army personnel have been deployed with each team in order to ensure strict security arrangements.

The first phase of the census in 63 districts, started on March15, was ended on April 20 after Pakistan Bureau of Statistics extended the date from April 14.
