Nawaz Sharif denied deal with Musharraf, claims Sheikh Rasheed

The former president's first choice was Nawaz Sharif as compared to Benazir Bhutto being his second

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed has claimed that the former president General (retd) Pervaiz Musharraf wanted to make a deal with Nawaz Sharif.

He revealed this while talking to Dunya News programme ‘On the Front’ as he professed that the former president’s first choice was Nawaz Sharif as compared to Benazir Bhutto being his second.

Sheikh Rashid claimed that Pervaiz Musharraf wanted to make a deal with Nawaz Sharif, however as he didn’t get a healthy response from Nawaz, the former president had to make NRO deal with Benazir Bhutto.

AML leader revealed that Benazir Bhutto wanted DG ISI to be part of the dialogues.

He expressed that just at the last times, Pervez Mushrraf had to make a deal in shape of NRO.

He claimed that the reason behind the deal not being sealed between Nawaz Sharif and Pervez Musharraf was Shehbaz Sharif who played a crucial role and made everybody fool in that scenario.

Sheikh Rasheed professed that it was agreed with King Abdullah that if in case Benazir Bhutto be allowed to come to Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif would not be barred from entering Pakistan.

During the programme, Sheikh Rasheed expressed that the best choice in the current scenario is Imran Khan.
