5.3 magnitude quake jolts parts of Punjab, KP, Azad Kashmir
Several buildings and houses in Mansehra and Haripur were abandoned amidst the horror
MANSEHRA (Dunya News) – Quake jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Punjab on Tuesday however, no casualties or damage to installations was reported.
Mansehra, Islamabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Chilas, Peshawar and Swat among other cities felt trimmers in the evening today.
Initial reports suggest that the magnitude was 5.3 on Richter scale and the epicenter of the quake was Tajikistan, 48km east-northeast of Shughnon.
Several buildings and houses in Mansehra and Haripur were abandoned amidst the horror.
According to the USGS, trimmer had a depth of 133.8km.
The region has the highest rate of seismicity in the Himalaya region which mainly is caused by movement on thrust faults.
