Lawyers' community condemns scuffle in Lahore session court
Supreme Court Bar Secretary suggested Punjab Bar Council to take action against those involved
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Leaders of lawyers’ community on Friday condemned the unfortunate incident of scuffle within the premises of Lahore session court, reported Dunya News.
Supreme Court Bar Secretary Aftab Bajwa suggested that the Punjab Bar Coucil should take action against such lawyers while judges at session court should send references against those involved.
Member of Pakistan Bar Council Azam Nazeer Tarar said that zero tolerance will be shown towards judges and lawyers involved in the fight.
On the other hand, Lahore Bar President Tanvir Akhtar defended the lawyers and pointed out that that it could be an act of defaming the lawyers.
The reality is that there have been countrywide incidents of lawyers carrying out indecent activities. Punjab Bar Council has suspended licenses of only 14 lawyers after over 313 complaints.
