Missing persons case: SC seeks Center's stance on probe report

Supreme Court has directed the federal government to submit reply over a judicial commission's report in missing persons case. Justice Javed Iqbal said a tribunal should be formed for recovery of the missing persons. During the hearing Justice Javed Iqbal said the Year 2011 will be the year of recovery of the disappeared persons. He said the Commission's recommendation of the legislation in this respect should be given serious consideration. During the hearing the court was informed that 134 missing persons have been recovered so far. Justice Javed Iqbal asked whether responsibility was established in disappearances and what action was taken against the responsible persons. Hashmat Habib Advocate informed the court that some missing persons were kidnapped by the state agencies.The court adjourned the hearing for a week.
