Cabinet approves amendments in Punjab Drugs Act 2016

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Provincial Cabinet has formally given approval for amendments in Punjab Drugs Act 2016, reported Dunya News.

According to the new amendments, those involved in manufacturing fake medicines will be punished with life imprisonment instead of seven years imprisonment.

Moreover, the fine in mentioned case will has also been extended from Rs 0.1M to 10M.

It has also been reported that the assets of all those involved in dealing fake medicines will also be usurped under the new act while a fine of Rs 5M instead of Rs 50 thousand will also be imposed on distributors of fake medicines.
