Petrol price hike challenged in LHC

The immense increase in price of petroleum prices has been challenged in Lahore High Court.Mateen-ul-Haq Chaudhry filed a writ in Lahore High Court, in which his stance substantiates that country is already in crisis with constant increase in unemployment and poverty, making life difficult for the citizens. The nation is severely suffering from a financial crisis and it has become difficult for a poor man to even earn his bread for living. In such a situation, increasing the price of petroleum products will definitely cause inflation and subsequently the prices of basic commodities will also rise. The court must ban this price hike. In this writ, involvement of OGRA and Ministry of Petroleum has been pointed out. It is also found that this price hike has also been challenged in Sindh High Court. While on the other side, local court has extended the physical remand for two days against Moonis Elahis manager Abdul Maalik regarding the NICL fraud case.
