PML-N candidates elected unopposed as mayors in Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Sahiwal

Polling for the final phase of local body elections in Punjab will be held on December 22.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday have been elected unopposed as mayors in Rawalpindi, Sialkot and Sahiwal.

According to details, PML-N leaders Sardar Naseem from Rawalpindi, Toheed Akhtar from Sialkot and Asad Baloch from Sahiwal have won the mayoral race incontestably.

On the other hand, preparations for the final phase of local body elections in Punjab are underway.

Retired Colonel Mubashir Javed and Waseem Qadir belonging to PML-N have come against each other for the mayorship of Lahore while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has also not left the seat uncontested and nominated its candidate Afeef Siddiqui.

Mian Qasim Farooq is the PML-N candidate for district chairman in Faisalabad who is being opposed by independent candidate Zahid Nazeer supported by Sher Ali group.

District chairman elections in Chakwal and Narowal are also being conducted.

Polling for the final phase of local body elections in Punjab will be held on December 22 for which candidates are submitting their nomination forms.
