Govt took key steps to limit inflation, curb energy crisis: Dar
Rupee gained strength against Dollar in the last two days, says the federal minister
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister of Finance, Ishaq Dar has said on Friday that the government took key steps to limit inflation and curb energy crisis.
He delivered an address at a security workshop in National Defense University in the federal capital today during which he said that the government brought reforms in different institutions as the country was faced with serious challenges before 2013.
The minister said that economic instability, worst kind of power outages and security concerns were among some of the issues when Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) came in power in 2013.
Performance of agriculture sector among others was not up to the mark, he said.
He said that inflation had gone too high while foreign exchange reserves were quite low.
Later today Ishaq Dar addressed another gathering in the capital during which he asserted that strict steps would be taken to halt smuggling of US Dollar. He added that Rupee gained strength against Dollar in the last two days.
