Multan: Parents stage protest as newborns swapped at private hospital
Two newborn babies, a girl and boy, were swapped at private hospital in Multan on Monday.
MULTAN (Dunya News) – According to details, two newborn babies, a girl and boy, were swapped in the nursery of a private hospital situated at the Abdali Road in Multan on Monday, Dunya News reported.
Fathers of the newborns, Arif and Atif, have expressed their anger against hospital administration while their relatives staged a protest inside the hospital.
Father of the baby boy said that according to ultrasound reports they were expecting a boy but the hospital administration informed him about the birth of a baby girl.
Hospital administration carried out DNA tests for the identification. They said that the babies were swapped due to a mistake carried out by the staff at the hospital’s nursery during tagging of the newborns.
